Ravi Urban Development Authority

The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) was established under the leadership of former Prime Minister Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi, with a visionary goal to reshape the urban landscape of Punjab, particularly along the Ravi River. The Authority, sanctioned by the Punjab Cabinet, is tasked with implementing the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP), also known as the Ravi City Project.

The project spans approximately 42,000 hectares (102,294 acres) along the Ravi River. This vast area is being developed into a new city that will alleviate Lahore’s urban pressures, such as overpopulation, traffic congestion, pollution, water scarcity, and flooding, through river channelization and the construction of barrages.

Central to this development are key projects like Chahar Bagh, a premium residential enclave designed to offer a modern, eco-friendly living environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure and amenities.
